The Celebrations
The money to put on these events is collected through individual donations (not student sponsorships) and through change collected in our “India Aquarium” at Immanuel UCC. If you’d like to help support these ministries, please click here.
Christmas
The first is a community-wide Christmas Celebration, complete with food and drinks for every attendee, shows, dances, and skits put on by the students, and small gifts given out to students, teachers, staff, pastors, Oldsters, and key community members, such as the sanitation workers who clean and dry out the human waste that is collected in the roadside ditches/rustic sewers. It is our chance to show the generous and joyful love of Jesus to all!
Vacation Bible School
The second major event is a Vacation Bible School, put on by trained, caring adults. Nearly every student in Marshall School attends this three-day “camp,” and the attendance starts at around 500 and grows throughout the event as families who aren’t linked to the school hear about it. Families who have sent their children often tell Novahu that it makes a real difference in the way their children relate to the world and their families, and they are grateful for the improvement!
